Firmware upgrades are created for specific models. If you have a Region 2 XV-BP1, it will have a totally different firmware than a Region 1 XV-BP1. Please do not attempt to update the unit with firmware for a different region player.

This unit can playback Blu-Ray, Standard DVDs and CDs as long as their Region 1. There are some online vendors that are modifing this unit to play all regions but it doesnt come from JVC that way.

It is a great Blu-ray player and would be a nice choice to go with your RX-9010V, but it will not work with the 9010 remote control.
