Are the KD-AVX77 and iPhone 3Gs compatible?

I recently purchased and installed a KD-AVX77 and it is a great receiver with great features. I have used the receiver to control and play audio and video files from an itouch and iPhone 3G with no issues. I upgraded to the iPhone 3Gs and the unit will not recognize the iPhone 3Gs (tried a friends as well with same response). The receiver displays "no USB connection". Surely they are compatible or a F/W upgrade can be provided so they are compatible?

I reset my iPhone 3Gs as per Apple's instructions and I get exactly the same response "no USB connection".

Please try doing a manual reset on your iPhone and this should allow your receiver to recognize the connected once you plug in the phone thru USB. Procedure for this can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1737

You can capture images from a USB drive or DVD. Please follow steps on page 13 of the instruction manual.

I have an iPhone and an old 4th gen iPod. Can I have the iPhone connected via usb and the iPod connected via an adapter and be able to switch between them from the input button?

Yes you can, you need the following parts.
For iPhone - JVC KS-U30,

For iPod - JVC KS-PD100 + Scosche passPORT (Charging Adapter for iPod touch 2G, iPod nano 4G, iPhone 3G)
For iPod(Option2) - iPod to JVC Auxiliary Adapter

Can the AVX77 be connected both to a backup camera and a video IPod so that the camera works during reverse and otherwise, the headunit can stream video from the IPod?

The KD-AVX77's A/V Input can only be selected to one source, whether it be a backup camera or iPod video connection.

how do I capture images full screen witho zooming in.

when i capture an image 'normal', it just has a small picture in the middle of the screen. If i zoom in and capture, it id pixalated and not very pretty no matter how high the original picture was in quality. I have a lot of 1600 x 1200 pictures for backgrounds or screen savers on a computer and they look great even on a 24 inch widescreen monitor, but they get deformed on the JVC AVX77

During Image capture display (as a background), the file size of the captured image must be decreased due to limited memory space. As a result, the background image may not reflect the same resolution as the displayed image when captured.

How many files and folders can the AVX77 read on a USB stick?

Hi, I recently bought a 32Gb USB stick to put all my music on but the head unit only recognises about 50 albums worth when I try to select them. This is quite disappointing. Can I get around this by creating playlists?

Please check to ensure that the USB memory stick has not been partitioned. Other specifications of how your USB drive is being loaded may be affecting playback as well. Please see page 60 of the KD-AVX77's instruction manual for more details on USB playback specifications here: http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/01/16/LVT1937-001A.pdf
