From the menu, you can choose to copy or move any file from the Hard Drive to the Micro SD Card provided there is enough free space on the Micro SD Card. It is also possible to copy from the Micro SD Card to the Hard Drive.

An Easy solution is to do all your recording in the AVCHD mode. No plug-in is required, and it is compatible with iMovie '08, iMovie '09 and Final Cut Pro 6.0.1 or higher.

All recording modes for the GZ-HD300 are 1920 x 1080 resolution. There are four different recording quality settings. The highest quality is UXP which records at a rate of 24Mbps (Mega bits per second). When you use UXP, you will get a maximum of 5.5 hours recording time on the built-in 60GB hard drive. The lowest quality is the EP setting. It offers the longest recording time (25 hours on the built-in 60GB hard drive), but only records at 5Mbps. For best results, make sure you are using the UXP mode, and make sure you are recording with adequate light. With these suggestions, it should be possible for you to get a very high quality recording with the full 1920 x 1080 resolution.

I'm sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the picture quality on your GZ-HD30. Outdoors, there is very little you should need to do to get a pretty impressive picture. Avoiding super high contrast scenes will generally help, as will not shooting directly into the light. Indoors, lighting can be a little more of an issue. Setting the shutter speed to 1/30th of a second or 1/15th of a second in very low light can be helpful to brighten up the picture and reduce noise. In really low light, switching out of auto focus, and locking in the focus at an appropriate manual setting is also a good idea. Generally that is all you need to do. If you are still not able to get a satisfactory picture, even when following these suggestions, you may want to bring your camcorder in to the place where you purchased it and have them check it out.

JVC recommends using either Class 4 or Class 6 Micro SD cards in either 4GB or 8GB capacities. While other sizes and speeds may work, they are not guaranteed.
